I am delighted to say that one of my favourite and most meaningful drawings has been selected to hang in the Royal Scottish Academy galleries. This is my second time in the gallery within a year and the honour is not passing me by. The exhibition has many of Scotland and the world’s best artists alongside mere mortals like myself.
‘Breathing’ is available to buy from the exhibition. The RSA are part of ‘Own Art’ scheme so it is possible to pay in 10 interest free instalments of £95.
I am delighted to be back at the Borders Art Fair. This is aways a joyous event full of wonderful artists and I am looking forward to seeing familiar faces and meeting new people, I hope you are one of them.
I have a 6-meter-long stand (number 62) packed full of new work much of which hasn’t been exhibited before.

The Wonders of Composition and Artist’s Talk
It’s more than just an art fair — BAF organise many activities around the event. Earlier this year I recorded a workshop on composition for BAF and an artist’s talk. It is all on their website for free, have a look at that and the other online workshops and events they have put together for us.

The next exhibition is Inception Art Show, Friday 6 May – Sunday 8 May. Inception art show returns to Dalkeith Country Park this May. An impressive roll-call of respected sculptors, artists, photographers and painters will be exhibiting within Dalkeith Palace. Then closely followed by Glasgow Contemporary Art Fair, Friday 27 May – Sunday 29 May. Held in a marquee in the grounds of the impressive Kelvingrove Art Gallery, it is full of original, affordable and inspiring art.
Last year was a very successful year for me, I was awarded a residency at Marchmont House, was selected for some very prestigious exhibitions and was appointed a professional member of the Society of Scottish Artists. I won’t be resting on my laurels this year, I already have three art fairs and a major art exhibition lined up and all before the end of May!

Borders Art Fair
It is so pleasing to be back at the Borders Art Fair. I don’t have to travel too far for it and always see many lovely familiar faces, I hope yours is one of them. I have also recorded a workshop and an artist’s talk for them. It is all on their website, have a look.
The Heriot Gallery is a ‘must-see’ gallery next to Greyfriars Art Shop on Dundas Street in Edinburgh. It is painted Tardis Blue and just like the Tardis it is much bigger on the inside than it looks on the outside. They will be taking some of my graphite and silver Breath Series on the long journey down to London. I hope they have a successful fair.
The Glasgow Contemporary Art Fair is in a beautiful white marquee situated in the grounds of the amazing Kelvingrove museum. I last did the GCAF in 2019 and almost sold out so I am really looking forward to this one and finding a few moments to wander around one of the best museum galleries in Scotland. It would make a wonderful day out .
Following on from the success of the first Inception show The Palace team have invited a selection of the finest artists from the UK and beyond for an exhibition hung throughout the palace. I am so delighted that they want me back again this year, especially as the Duke of Buccleuch himself bought one of my Breath Series from the first exhibition (those of you who know me well know that I am so chuffed at being in his collection alongside Rembrandt and da Vinci etc.).
I hope to see some of you at any or all of these events, especially as I really won’t be getting out much beforehand, I will be starved of company and chained to my studio.

Road Trip
Road Trip is a collaborative artwork which has journeyed around Scotland connecting artists and communities during our year of Covid. I am one of the SSA Sattelite Associates for the Scottish Borders and, as such, began this project. The painting is being raffled to support the Sattelite Programme. The SSA Annual Exhibition will showcase some of the most exciting work being made by the Society’s members and other selected artists, as well as bringing powerful international work to audiences in Edinburgh.
As a selling exhibition, visitors can purchase works from the show. In addition to the main works there will be a series of smaller artworks available at accessible prices.

JOIN ME AT INCEPTION || A brand-new art show to be held at Dalkeith Palace from 10th-12th September 2021.
Meet Inception. An exciting new art sales exhibition launching this September, showcasing the work of handpicked British artists. In a world adapting to Covid-19, Inception has been created to allow artists, who have endured extremely tough times over these past 20 months, to collaboratively present their collections to the public. Artists’ collections will be shown in ‘found spaces’ within the wonderful Dalkeith Palace.
An impressive roll call of respected artists, sculptors and painters have already signed up to present their work. Pop onto the event page for a full list of exhibitors.
The show is open from 10am – 5pm on 10th-12th September. Entrance tickets cost £2.50 and are now on sale.
