Borders Art Fair and a collaboration 40 years in the making

This year I will be sharing stand number 32 with my friend of almost 40 years, Rebekah Tolley-Georgiou.

We were undergraduates together, lectured in the same art colleges and did a residency @marchmontcreativespaces together. We have been through many ups and downs over the years and have been great supporters of each others work but this will be the first time we have collaborated on a piece. How special is that?

The piece is called ‘In Sotto Voce’ and will take centre stage on our shared stand.

My current work explores the use of metals and elemental materials, similar to the work of alchemists. They endevoured to create gold from lead and base materials, I believe this is what art can do: elevate mundane matter into something more than the sum of its parts.

Finally, I recorded an online demonstration/ lecture for Borders Art Fair, it is on the subject of ‘The Artist’s Journey’, the development of ideas and the artistic process. It explains in detail how I have produced some of the work at the fair.

Inception exhibition at Dalkeith Palace

JOIN ME AT INCEPTION || An art show to be held at Dalkeith Palace from 06 – 08 May 2022.

Inception returns to Dalkeith Palace, showcasing a curated collection of contemporary artists.

The art show launched in 2021 to celebrate the re-emergence of artists after the long hiatus suffered by the creative industries during the pandemic.

Following its resounding success last year, this celebration of creativity continues to develop. For its second incarnation, Inception has invited an inspirational collection of modern and contemporary artists, sculptors, photographers and painters to share their work.

As Inception is an art sales exhibition, you will have the opportunity to purchase the artwork during the show. Entry slots are open every hour, however you are welcome to stay and enjoy the exhibition for longer after arrival. I very much look forward to welcoming you at Inception.

The show is open from 10am – 4pm on 6-8 May. Entrance tickets cost £3 and are now on sale.

Visitor parking is a short two minute walk from Dalkeith Palace. If accessible parking is required, please contact the events team who can make alternative arrangements.

You will find me in the Morning Room, a fantastic space with lots of light.

I’ll be exhibiting amongst other artists I admire, including:

  • Richard Goldsworthy
  • Walter Dalkeith

There will be a pop-up shop within the Palace where it will be possible to purchase my limited-edition prints.

All the framed original works I am showing will also be for sale. I look forward to seeing you over the exhibition weekend if you can make it.

Imagine Peace

One of my most meaningful drawings, ‘Imagine Peace’, has been made available as a limited edition print with fifty percent of profits going to the British Red Cross Ukraine Crisis appeal. These are very large and very high quality prints.
