“My recent works explore the alchemy of materials transforming base elements such as graphite, beeswax and metals into something precious with a hint of magic.
By using metals and elemental materials that have their own properties (healing or otherwise) my practice has become similar to the work of alchemists. They endevoured to create gold from lead and base materials, I believe this is what art can do: elevate mundane matter into something more than the sum of its parts.”
